I would love to have the courage to move to Italy! I'm in my 7/'s life as a freelancer means I do not have a pot of gold to help with this transition, am I crazy??

You are absolutely not crazy!! Lots of people are doing it!! Just take it one step at a time! Maybe come rent for a few months or a year and see how it goes! I find it to be a real dream!! If you haven't read my book, take a look. It tells how we did it, well into out sixties!! This was poignant. I relate feeling a bit weary and returning to those moments of presence that you write into so well😍

You have many, many beautiful memories to return to. And more to come, with the wedding and beyond.

lovely to visit (virtually) your barn/house which looks like a project worthy of an article on the magazine i worked with for 31 years-Ville e Casali.

Complimenti ! enjoy your piece of haven in Italy !

Beautiful These are the moments that make all the restoration challenges worthwhile. I remember my dad warning me when we bought our home in Le Marche-- "You know you could take a lot of really, really nice vacations for what this is going to cost you". He was absolutely right. But those vacation spots would never have been a place where family and friends could easily come and visit-- they would never have been a home. Congratulations on making a barn into a wonderful home. .

Thank you! I am sure would have liked your dad. And he was right. But as you know, there is something so magical about being in Europe with your bad, your pillow, your shower...and no jet lag! For now, it is heaven. Right?

I'm so glad to be here on the page with you, my SWP sister. I went to another sister's book event near Seattle yesterday (with three others in attendance, as well). Our varied and beautiful stories and selves are a blessing in these times. And I LOVE sequels to your book here on this page! The last page is never the end!
