We live in Rome, in an apartment near the Vatican. But we were so surprised when a couple of weeks ago, we received a flyer on our doorstep from the Church, advising us of the Holy Week schedule around Rome and offering to come and make a pastoral visit if we wished. Unfortunately, we haven't been in town much in order to take them up on their offer. But I thought it was a beautiful tradition.

It's a hard time here in the US. But making ravioli and foccacia for Sunday family dinner is keeping me grounded. Lots to be thankful for and aware of as we enter this Holy Week! Blessings!
A wrenched my back, two people called to tell me how much they loved my second novel, War and Preservation, and birds sang outside my window. Despite the fact my housemate hasn't filled their feeders, they sing. A lesson for us all.
Lovely post. I'm feeling blessed myself, since I sent the final clean copy of my second novel to my publisher on Thursday, and can now breathe for a bit. I have time to plant a few seeds, dig up the comfrey that's making inroads on all the surrounding vegetation, and listen to the birds - apparently related to yours - who are loudly hoping to attract a mate. :)
